“The mecate, the two rein, the reata, mule hide on the horn, armitas, the bosalito, beautifully crafted high port silver bits are all trappings of the vaquero tradition that began almost two centuries ago. These ancestral skills have been embraced and carried forward by those that care deeply for their horses, their cattle and their way of life.

Whether a participant or an avid observer of a traditional ranch roping, it is a magical thing. Horses and riders moving together in a unity few will ever experience. The fancy throws, the huge loops, all that rope sailing out and laying just so……………it is a piece of living history, keeping the best of the west alive by preserving tradition.”
