Thousand Yard Stare

"Thousand Yard Stare"

14" x 18" Oil on Canvas

“Last fall and winter, I watched this unusually large coyote hunt for mice and voles in the field next to my studio. His winter coat was so remarkable, I felt compelled to paint him. The setting is across from my studio along the ridge line above the Clark Fork River where he seemed to magically appear standing stock still surveying his surroundings with that ‘Thousand Yard Stare’.”
